With Iris in LA this week, Will’s been using ‘I miss Mommy’ as a means of trying to stay up late.  The other night we were sitting on his bed and the conversation goes like this:

Will: Dad!  Aren’t you forgetting something?

Dad: What?

Will: You need to do some chores.  Like do the dishes.  And I can help.  I’m a great helper.

Dad: Actually I just have to start a load of laundry and then I’m going to be just like you.

Will: (Placing his hands on either side of my face and getting up right into my eyes)  Dad!  THAT’S SOUNDS LIKE A TWO MAN JOB!

The other day at story time in the library the reader said, “And Susan painted her toes. And Susan painted her nose.  And Susan painted her elbows.”  “Now kids, what else do you think Susan painted?”  Will yells out, “HER PENIS!”

This nation has elect Barrack Hussein Obama II to be our leader.  A socialist, America-hating, liar that associates with terrorists, election fraudsters, and business criminals .  We have turned our back on Capitalism and entered the new age of entitlements.  When your nation’s enemies are pleased with to whom you elect as your President, you know it’s going to be bad.

Iris and I find that not only do our kids say funny things but sometimes we say things that we never thought we’d say.  Here’s a sample from both parties:

“Lily, don’t hit your brother in the head with that bat.”

“Daddy, make sure the [bath] water isn’t too hot for my penis.”

(after thanking Will for good behavior) “Dad, it was my pleasure.”

(after finding Will in Lily’s crib following a very brief nap and asking if Lily was sleeping when he crawled in to her crib.) “Lily was sleeping because I had to open her eyes.” (then demonstrates prying open her eyelids while she was sleeping)

(when being asked why we don’t jump on Mommy like we do Daddy) “Because girls have soft guts.”

(when seeing a lady with a head scarf) “Mommy that lady has a blanket on her head.”

(when seeing a convertible, and please note… this was done in a loud and shocked voice. “Mommy!  That car lost its roof!”

(when seeing a big fat guy coming out of a store and done with a loud voice) “That man has a big tummy”

I check the SF Chronicle’s website - sfgate.com - on a daily basis for local news from the Bay Area.   And while you can sense the occasional undertone of bias in some of their stories, it’s pretty much the most up-to-date website for local news. However, when I was looking at their photo collage from the Republican National Convention I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of pictures of police officers.  It took me a minute to find a similar page of photos from the Democratic National Convention but when I did I was - actually I wasn’t- shocked to find a different theme to the photos presented there. And it’s not just the number of photos that concerns me.  It’s the way in which the Police are framed and presented.  In the RNC Gallery we have the Police photographed either using peper spray or wearing riot gear.  While in the DNC Gallery we have the police in standard uniforms, no weapons in hand escorting a priest.

Why are the Police that worked the RNC depicted as being violate and aggresive?  Weren’t there violant protests at the DNC?  Is the SFGate implying that the DNC was peaceful and that the police never had to resort to force to break up the crowds of anarchists?

Yes, I know.  It’s been forever since I posted.  Sue me.

I’ll write more later after I make breakfast.  Lily and Iris are still sleeping.  Will’s eating cereal and watching cartoons.  It’s going to be another hot day in Tracy.
